Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1(Vision) KSIRE is a member body committed to the sharing of research findings in national and foreign education and to the fostering of shared understanding of intellectual growth and education through the sharing of domestic and international exchanges between individuals and institutions on outcomes in education and research.

Article 2(Name) The official name is Korea Society of International Relations and Education

Article 3(Location) The office shall be situated at the position where the President is located.


Chapter 2 Projects

Article 4 (Projects) To achieve the vision of Article 1, this society shall carry out the following projects:

1) Information exchange and research projects on domestic and international education

2) Organizing academic conferences and cooperation programs to facilitate the exchange of education;

3) Publication and distribution of journals and other publications, and research activities for members

4) Education policy development and education site improvement activities support  projects

5) Other projects necessary to achieve the visions.


Chapter 3 Membership

Article 5 (Types of Members) Members of this society are divided into regular members, student members, institutional members, and other members.

Article 6 (Qualifications of Members) Regular members are those below who agree with the purpose of this society and wish to join.

1) Those who majored in education and adjacent studies and obtained a master's degree or higher

2) Those who are engaged in educational institutions of elementary, secondary, and secondary education and related institutions

3) Other persons who have been approved for full membership by the board of directors

Student members are students enrolled in a master's course in education and adjacent studies.

Institutional members refer to individuals, corporations, and organizations that have been authorized by the board of directors as individuals, corporations, or organizations who are interested in or related to this society.

Article 7 (Rights of Members) The rights of regular members are as follows.

1) Right to attend the general meeting and right to vote

2) Right to vote the President

3) Right to participate in various academic projects

4) Right to receive publications such as journals

Student members have the rights of No. 1 and No. 3 of the subparagraphs of paragraph 1.

The rights of institutional members are as follows.

1) Right to view the expenditure of the funded funds

2) Right to request issuance of various certificates for accounting processing

3) Other rights approved by the board of directors

Article 8 (Obligations of Regular Members) The obligations of regular members are as follows.

1) Obligation to respect and abide by the rules and regulations

2) Obligation to actively participate in the projects of this society

3) Obligation to pay the prescribed membership fee

Article 9 (Disqualification of Members) When a member falls under any of the following subparagraphs, he or she loses his or her qualifications.

1) Resignation at the member's will

2) When a member dies or is bankrupt

3) Expulsion by the board of directors


Chapter 4 General Assembly

Article 10 (Types and Composition of General Assembly) General assembly is divided into the regular general meeting and extraordinary general meeting, and regular members become members of the general meeting.

Article 11 (Convocation of General Meeting) Regular general meetings are convened by the president during the fourth quarter of each year, and extraordinary general meetings are convened by the president at the resolution of the board of directors or the request of more than a third of the full members.

To convene a regular general meeting, members must be notified in writing or e-mail by specifying the purpose of the meeting 14 days before the opening of the meeting.

Chapter 5 Administrative Staffs

Article 12 (Types of Executives) The society has the following executives.

1) One president

2) A few vice presidents

3) About 50 directors

4) Several supervisors

5) Several secretaries

6) Several consultants

Article 13 (Appointment of Executives) The president shall be elected by voting at the general meeting held with the attendance of a majority of regular members.

The candidate for the president shall be one or more persons recommended by consultants.

The vice president is appointed by the president.

Consultants are made up of former presidents.

Supervisors are elected by the board of directors on the recommendation of consultants.

Article 14 (Term of Office of Executives) The term of office of the president is three years. The president may be re-elected.

The term of office of the vice president is the same as that of the president.

The term of office of the consultant is the same as that of the president.

The term of office of the director is the same as that of the president.

The term of the supervisor is the same as that of the president.

Article 15 (Obligations of Executives) The president represents the main assembly, manages affairs, and becomes the president of the general assembly and the board of directors.

The vice president assists the president and oversees one or more subcommittees or secretariat.

In the event of the president's absence, one of the vice-presidents determined by the board of directors will act as the president.

At the request of the president, the advisor presents professional opinions for the operation of the association.

Directors attend the board of directors to decide on matters related to the affairs of the plenary session and handle matters delegated by the board of directors or the president.

The supervisor audits the business and accounting of this society every year and reports the results to the regular general meeting and the board of directors.


Chapter 6 Board of Directors

Article 16 (Composition of the Board of Directors) The board of directors is composed of the president, vice president, director, and supervisor.

Article 17 (Convocation of the Board of Directors) The board of directors shall be convened by the president when deemed necessary by the president or when there is a request of more than a third of the current directors.

Article 18 (Decision-making of the Board of Directors) The Board of Directors resolves the following matters.

1) Approval of the business plan and budget

2) Approval of business reports and accounts

3) Enactment and opening and closing of the bylaws and regulations

4) Creation and management of society fund

5) Enrollment and Resignation

6) Establishment and operation of branch research groups

7) Editing and publishing of journals and other publications

8) Other matters necessary for the operation of this society

Article 19 (Decision-making Quorum of the Board of Directors) The board of directors decides with the attendance of a majority of the incumbent directors and the approval of a majority of the attending directors. With the same vote for and against, the decision shall be made by the President.

Chapter 7 Organization

Article 20 (Permanent Committee) To achieve the purpose of this society, the following committees are permanently operated.

1) International Exchange Committee

2) Conference Committee

3) Journal editing committee

4) Ethics and Regulations Committee

5) Institutional Cooperation Committee

6) Planning and Academic Steering Committee

7) Other committees established to carry out the business of this meeting

The committee under Paragraph 1 is in charge of the president.

The committee referred to in Paragraph 1 may have one president and one or more members and secretaries.

The president and secretary in the preceding paragraph shall be appointed by the vice-president referred to in paragraph 2 among regular members.

Article 21 (Secretariat) A secretariat will be established for the smooth operation of this society.

The secretariat under Paragraph 1 is overseen by the president.

The secretariat referred to in Paragraph 1 may have one secretary-general and one or more secretaries.

The secretariat and secretary in the preceding paragraph shall be appointed by the president from among regular members.




Chapter 8 Academic Journal

Article 22 (Journal Name) Academic Journal is “Journal of the International Relations & Interdisciplinary Education”.

Article 23 (Publication and Copyright) Publication in academic journals is for unpublished papers.

The copyright of the thesis published in academic journals belongs to the Korea Society of International Relations and Education.

Other matters related to the publication of academic journals will be determined separately.

Chapter 9 Finance and Accounting

Article 24 (Finance) The sources of income for the operation of this meeting are as follows.

1) Member dues

2) Grants and donations

3) Other income

Article 25 (Membership Fee) The annual membership fee is determined by the resolution of the board of directors. However, matters regarding foreigners' annual fees, etc. will be determined by the general meeting.

Article 26 (Fiscal Year) The fiscal year is from January 1st to December 31st of the current year.

Article 27 (Projects Plan and Budget) The President shall prepare the annual business plan and budget for this meeting one month before the start of each fiscal year, submit it to the board of directors and undergo a resolution.

Article 28 (Attribution of Residual Property) Upon dissolution, the Association shall attribute the residual property to the Ministry of Education, Busan City or other non-profit corporations with similar purposes in accordance with relevant laws.

Article 29 (Disclosure of donations) ① The annual donation amount and utilization records will be disclosed on the website of the conference (http://korea-sire.or.kr).

② The internet homepage in the preceding paragraph should be connected to the internet homepage of the Ministry of Education, where you can file complaints about public interest violations.


Supplementary provisions

Article 1 Article 27 of these Articles of Incorporation shall apply from the fiscal year 2021.
